ABOUT US

CHRISTABEL DEVADOSS

I am a Northeast Ohio native and have called Moreland Hills home for five years. My family is deeply rooted in this community where my 1 and 3-year-old will soon attend Orange Schools. My background in higher education and research has given me the ability to analyze complex issues and communicate them clearly, specifically focusing on positive futures for Rust Belt areas. I have applied these skills in service to our village since 2022 as a member of the DEIB Commission and serving as Vice Chair since 2025. In addition to my professional work, I am a local artist/photographer who teaches at the Orange Art Center, giving me another way to connect with our community. I am running for Village Council to continue serving our residents and ensure a strong, livable future for all.

Education: PhD Geography, West Virginia University,
MA Geography, Kent State University,
BS Visual Journalism, Kent State University

REF LUEVANO

I am a project manager and community leader, and my family and I have proudly called Moreland Hills home since 2017. My wife and I have a blended family of three children who have attended or are currently attending Orange Schools.
In my career, I specialize in identifying efficiencies and solving complex challenges through collaboration and practical solutions. When I don’t have all the answers, I actively engage experts and community voices to ensure the best outcome.
I have supported voter registration drives, assisted with polling location information, helped coordinate blood donations, and volunteered with local food banks. These experiences have strengthened my belief in service and in the value of bringing people together for the common good.
As a candidate, I am committed to encouraging greater community involvement, enhancing transparency, and ensuring a thriving future for Moreland Hills.

ERIC MELI

An Ohio native, I am a proud child of first-generation American immigrants , United States Marine, and graduate of The Ohio State University. Having lived in Moreland Hills since 2009, I am still amazed every day at the resources and beauty we are fortunate enough to have at our front door- including our amazing parks and green spaces, top rankings in safety year after year, and our incredible schools. My daughter benefited from the Orange school system from start to finish and is now an honors student in college. My wife spent many years as a paraprofessional at Orange assisting dozens of young children with their special needs in the classroom. I spent my career as a systems engineer, where I ensured quality and optimization in manufacturing, then testing software, building teams, and managing projects in IT. I have had the privilege of serving others by volunteering at the Cleveland Food Bank, Hospice of the Western Reserve, and by donating a fresh water well to a village in Uganda. I seek to bring an attention to detail and desire to help others to our council, and ensure our Village remains the strong, vibrant, wonderful community we all know.
